The latest hardware, gigabit transmission rates in DSL and wireless LAN, along with many technological highlights make the FRITZ!Box 3490 the perfect hub for your home network.

    High-speed DSL on all connections
The FRITZ!Box 3490 brings high-speed home networking to every DSL line – be it ADSL, ADSL2+ or VDSL – and offers a wealth of extras to fulfill all communications needs in the home network. The FRITZ!Box supports the latest standards for backbone capacities of over 100 Mbit/s like VDSL vectoring, which noticeably improves data throughput along adjacent copper cables wired for VDSL. FRITZ!FRITZ!Box 3490 is compatible with the DSL lines of all common providers.

Gigabit transmission rates with LAN and Wireless AC
Modern Wireless AC provides for spectacular gigabit speeds of up to 1300 Mbit/s in the wireless home network. The FRITZ!Box 3490 supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz simultaneously in the optimized 3 x 3 MIMO configuration. This provides for considerably more range and higher transmission rates in the wireless network. This makes it possible to use multiple broadband-intensive applications in parallel wireless operation. Cutting-edge hardware architecture in combination with four ultra-fast gigabit LAN ports round out the high-speed network.

    Versatile multimedia functions
The FRITZ!Box manages all connected USB storage media as well as online storage media along with all their contents. Thanks to the integrated media server, videos, music and pictures stored on NAS are available throughout the entire network and can be distributed to playback devices using a smartphone and FRITZ!App Media. The new USB 3.0 standard provides for ultra-fast data transfer. This makes the FRITZ!Box 3490 a powerful and efficient platform for networked applications like IPTV, video on demand and media streaming. Yet thanks to many automated Eco mode features, the power consumption of the FRITZ!Box 3490 remains extremely low.

Always Up to Date Thanks to FRITZ!OS
AVM is constantly adding new functions to the operating system of the FRITZ!Box – FRITZ!OS – through upgrades. This include applications for the areas of FRITZ!NAS, online storage, media server, Smart Home and MyFRITZ!, to name a few.

MyFRITZ! makes it easy to access your own FRITZ!Box safely from anywhere. This personal cloud service keeps all your private data securely at home on a storage medium connected to the FRITZ!Box, where it can be accessed from anywhere – be it with the computer, notebook, smartphone or tablet. Devices in the home network can also be released for secure sharing.

What is the AVM FRITZ!Box 3490? This is AVM's long-awaited stripped-down version of the FRITZ!Box 7490. In an increasingly smartphone-obsessed world, it ditches the DECT base station and fixed-line telephony, but still brings an integrated VDSL2 modem, 80...

  • The FRITZ!Box 3490 is neat, faster than ISP-supplied routers (especially at range) and packs a huge feature set. The problem is that it remains overly complex to set up and there are faster dedicated routers available at a similar price point. It's a so...

The Fritz!Box 3490 sits right in the middle of AVM's product line?up, as a triple-stream 3x3 MIMO router, with a built-in ADSL/VDSL modem. It lacks the digital telephony features of the more expensive 7490 model , but pretty much everything else is the sa...
